1. Agreement to Terms

By submitting your information through our job alert signup form, you agree to:

  • Receive job notifications via email and/or WhatsApp
  • Allow us to process your personal information as described below
  • Be bound by these Terms & Conditions

2. Our Service

What We Provide

  • Free job alert notifications matching your preferences (location and job type)
  • Manual matching service connecting job seekers with relevant opportunities
  • Optional profile creation for employer browsing (coming soon)

What We Don’t Guarantee

  • We do not guarantee job placement or employment outcomes
  • We are not responsible for the accuracy of job listings posted by employers
  • We do not guarantee a specific number of job alerts
  • Response times and matching quality depend on available opportunities

3. POPIA Compliance & Data Protection

Information We Collect

When you sign up for job alerts, we collect:

  • Name – to personalize communications
  • Email address – to send job alerts
  • WhatsApp number (optional) – for WhatsApp-based job alerts
  • Location preference – to match you with relevant local jobs
  • Job type preferences – to match you with suitable opportunities

How We Use Your Information

Your personal information is used to:

  • Send you job alerts that match your preferences
  • Track successful job placements (anonymized metrics)
  • Improve our matching service
  • Communicate with you about the service

Your POPIA Rights

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), you have the right to:

  • Access – Request a copy of your personal information we hold
  • Correction – Request corrections to inaccurate information
  • Deletion – Request deletion of your information (“right to be forgotten”)
  • Objection – Object to processing of your information
  • Restriction – Request restricted processing
  • Portability – Request your data in a portable format

  • Your information is stored securely using industry-standard practices
  • We use WordPress (Flamingo plugin) and/or Google Sheets/Notion for data storage

  • We retain your data only as long as you remain subscribed or as required by law

  • We do NOT sell your personal information to third parties
  • We may share your name and contact details with employers only when:
    • A job matches your preferences, AND
    • You have explicitly agreed to receive job alerts
  • We may share anonymized, aggregated statistics (e.g., “50 job seekers in Cape Town”)

Consent

By signing up, you provide explicit consent for:

  • Collection and processing of your personal information
  • Receiving job alert communications via email and/or WhatsApp
  • Sharing your contact details with potential employers for matched job opportunities

You may withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing (see Section 7).


4. Job Alerts & Communications

Frequency

  • You will receive job alerts only when opportunities match your preferences
  • Frequency varies based on available jobs (could be daily, weekly, or less often)
  • We aim to send quality matches, not spam

Content of Alerts

Job alerts typically include:

  • Job title and brief description
  • Employer name (if provided)
  • Location
  • Salary range (if available)
  • How to apply

Opt-In Requirement

  • All job alerts are opt-in only
  • We will never add you to our list without your explicit consent
  • Each alert includes an unsubscribe option

5. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and truthful information
  • Keep your contact information up to date
  • Notify us of any changes to your preferences
  • Use the service for legitimate job-seeking purposes only
  • Not misuse or abuse the service
  • Respond professionally to employer contacts

6. Limitations of Liability

Service Availability

  • We provide this service “as is” without warranties
  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
  • We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time

Third-Party Job Listings

  • Job listings are provided by third-party employers
  • We are not responsible for the accuracy, legality, or quality of job postings
  • We do not conduct background checks on employers
  • Employment relationships are between you and the employer only

Liability Cap

  • Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service (which is currently free)
  • We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages
  • We are not liable for lost opportunities, income, or employment

Your Own Due Diligence

You are responsible for:

  • Verifying the legitimacy of employers and job offers
  • Conducting your own research before accepting any position
  • Protecting yourself from scams or fraudulent job postings
  • Not sharing sensitive information (ID numbers, bank details) until you’ve verified an employer

7. Unsubscribe & Data Deletion

How to Unsubscribe

You can stop receiving job alerts at any time by:

  • Clicking “Unsubscribe” in any email alert
  • Sending a WhatsApp message to 079 876 2604 with “STOP”
  • Emailing us at admin@communitymarkethub.com

What Happens When You Unsubscribe

  • You will stop receiving job alerts within 48 hours
  • Your data will be marked as inactive
  • You can request full deletion of your data (see below)

Request Data Deletion

To permanently delete your information:

  • Email us at admin@communitymarkethub.com with subject “Delete My Data”
  • We will delete your information within 30 days
  • Some information may be retained for legal/compliance purposes

8. Changes to Terms

  • We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time
  • Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date
  • Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance
  • For significant changes, we will notify you via email

9. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, including:

  • Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), 2013
  • Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 2002
  • Consumer Protection Act, 2008

Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of South African courts.
